“SAHPRA has received an application for the Pfizer Comirnaty Booster/3rd dose vaccine on Nov.17. SAHPRA will now commence with the assessment of data for the safety and efficacy of the third dose. The outcome of the assessment will be communicated in due course,” said SAHPRA CEO Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized boosters of the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for all adults.
SAHPRA last month approved the use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine booster doses for healthcare workers who received the first shot. Enditem
