Governors from the South-East geo-political zone converged in Enugu yesterday to reiterate its commitment to tackle security issues in the region frontally.
Chairman of South-East Governors Forum, Chief Theodore Orji of Abia State gave the assurance in Enugu Government House while briefing newsmen at the end of meeting.
Governor Orji said, ?Our meeting today dwelt on security issues. We have agreed to tackle security matters in the region jointly. This time, we will cooperate among ourselves to fight security in the zone.
?We equally welcomed our new colleague,Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano. He has been briefed on the workings of the forum.
?Another issue we talked about is our delegates to the National Conference. We appraised their performance inorder to ensure that the aim for which they went there is properly represented.
However, Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha did not attend the meeting while governors of Enugu, Sullivan Chime, Anambra state, Willie Obiano, Deputy governor, Ebonyi, Dave Omehia were present at the meeting.
