South Sudan on Thursday called on investors from Arabian countries to invest in the country’s animal husbandry and agriculture.

Minister of Trade, Industry and East Africa Community, Moses Hassan who met a delegation from the Arab League said they are looking for investors for the country’s huge livestock population and agriculture.

The country has more than 25 million heads of cattle, he said in Juba, adding that many global investors have shown keen interest.

The minister said he remains optimistic of peace being achieved through the national dialogue, hence ending more than three years of violence in the East African nation.

“The ongoing national dialogue in the country will bring lasting peace and many investors will accept to come and we will get what we don’t have now,” Hassan noted.

Khaled Abdel Rahim Sabry Ibrahim, the head of the Arab League mission in South Sudan, agreed that South Sudan has huge investment potential.

“South Sudan has good relationship with the Arab League and we will be visiting Sudan and other countries to talk with investors to come and invest in South Sudan,” he said. Enditem
