Mr Enyonam Gilbert Avemegah, the South Tongu District Coordinating Director, has stated that the district is blessed with lots of investment potentials for the development of the area.

He said the district had a land area of 664.57 kilometre square, most of which were vast arable land, free from litigations and good for cultivation of rice, sugar cane, mango among others.

Mr Avemegah who was addressing patrons, visitors and exhibitors at the ongoing fifth Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho, said the district also had beautiful hospitality facilities including hotels and there were available lands for more of such facilities in the area.

The DCD said the district could boast of water bodies including River Volta, Angaw lagoon and River Tordzi, that were good for aquaculture to accelerate the growth of the area and to reduce unemployment.

Mr Avemegah said the district had a temperature between 22.6 C and 29.3 C with rainfall between 73mm and 195mm per annum with savanna woodland, swamp and mangrove vegetation covering the area.

The DCD said there were large deposits of clay in the area for ceramic products for local and international markets and urged potential investors to come to the area to invest.

Mr Avemegah said the Assembly was ready to partner any investor to enhance the socio-economic development of the area to transform the lives of the people.

Mr Alexander Nketia, Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority, urged the Assembly to take necessary steps to fix the roads to major hospitality facilities within the area.

He said the deplorable nature of the road could affect the level of patronage and that could affect the Assembly’s revenue and its development activities.

The Fair is the fifth in the series and was dubbed: Creating Enabling Environment for Agribusiness, Tourism and Information Communication Technology companies.
