Special voting: EC calms tempers of aggrieved voters

The Electoral Commission  (EC) of Ghana is assuring voters whose names were missing in the voters’ register at the various polling stations across the country  during special voting exercise to keep calm as its works around the clock to rectify the situation.

Majority of security personnel and journalists were prevented from voting today during the Special voting as their names were not on the list of special voters.

Affected security personnel have threatened to vote on December 7, 2016 before they will go to their  respective duty posts.

In a statement signed by the Head of Communications Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, it said ‘We urge the security personnel affected to remain calm. Appropriate arrangements will be made for them to vote in this year’s elections’.
