According to him, despite the effort by governments and institutions to fight malaria, the disease still claims almost half a million lives each year, mostly in children under five, living in sub-Saharan Africa.

Alhaji Seidu Alhassan who was speaking in an interview with the media in Garu-Tempane said Ghana records 3.5 million cases of malaria every year, adding that 900,000 of the malaria cases are recorded among children less than five years.

The Mission of the organisation is to contribute towards minimizing human suffering in the fields of health, STIs HIV/ AIDS, sustained food and nutrition security of the marginalized through environmentally sound interventions, while focusing on equity, justice and human rights.

Founded in 2007, the organisation provide social, educational and health care services especially for youth and women.
Alhaji Seidu Alhassan said his organisation is currently implementing malaria prevention and control project in the Garu-Tempane District.

The objective of the project, he said is to increase awareness and knowledge of the entire population in malaria prevention and control so as to improve uptake of and correct use of all interventions by 2020;

It further aim at providing appropriate diagnosis to all suspected malaria cases and prompt and effective treatment to 80% of confirmed malaria cases in accordance to treatment guidelines by 2020.

The Executive Director disclosed that 30 community based agents (CBAs) have be trained to reach out to the grassroots with malaria prevention and management information through the sensitization of Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, women and social groups.

The CBAs he noted have reached five thousand, seven hundred and twenty-five individual with messages on malaria and visited 364 houses, six Churches and Mosques.
