Striker Bruma Kidnapped By Sporting Lisbon Fans


Bruma in action against Ghana at the U20 World Cup has been kidnapped by Sporting Lisbon fans in Portugal

Portugal U20 striker Bruma who was stopped by the Ghana defence during the U20 World Cup round of 16 tie in Turkey has been kidnapped by Sporting Lisbon fans after threatening to quit the club.

The 18-year-old?s agent confirmed to the Portuguese press a group of Sporting Lisbon fans have tried to seize the forward on Wednesday night.

Bruma who has spent two seasons with Sporting has been linked with a move away from Sporting this summer after catching the eye last season and enhancing his reputation with a string of sparkling performances for Portugal at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

However, events have now taken an ugly turn with his agent quoted as telling the Portuguese press that members of a Sporting supporters? group tried to kidnap the player.

The striker was much feared by Ghanaians to tear apart the Black Satellites defence during the round of 16 tie but the partnership of Lawrence Lartey and Joseph Attamah applied the brakes on him as Ghana defeated the Iberians 3-2 to progress to the quarters.

He netted times at the competition.
