Striking Pharmacists Called Off Strike Action

The members of the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOPSA) have called off their three-week long strike.?

The pharmacists withdrew their services three weeks ago insisting they will only return to work after the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) offers them a higher premium on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).?

GHOPSA, however, submitted itself to a compulsory arbitration on Monday between them and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to the National Labour Commission (NLC).?

The Executive Secretary of GHOPSA, Franklin Owusu Acheampong this was?in line with the requirement for the compulsory arbitration, where one would have to call off the strike, “so our members at the national meeting decided to return to work, so as to be able to submit themselves to the processes of the compulsory arbitration.?
