Ghana, 28th July 2022: Indian philosophies, art, architecture, and educational techniques are well-known around the world. India’s education system is as vast and diverse as the country itself. The drive for learning has been deeply-rooted since ancient times, so much so that it is now considered to be home to the second-largest higher education system in the world.
With an aim to provide a platform for international students who want to pursue their higher education in India, the Government of India introduced the Study in India (SII) programme in 2018. It is run under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India to make the nation’s top universities and cutting-edge institutions accessible to international students under the programme.
Many of the partner institutions of Study in India have served as a launching pad for some of the illustrious graduates who today lead numerous Fortune 500 firms. To make education more affordable, Study in India provides merit-based scholarships and fee waivers to deserving students from diverse backgrounds to make higher education more accessible. The SII Scholarship is awarded to students who perform well in the PRAGATII Exam. PRAGATII stands for Performance Rating of Applicants through Global Aptitude Test for Indian Institutes. It is held at two levels, for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in a standardized online exam mode to evaluate the students’ aptitude and capability. PRAGATII Exam is conducted in Online proctored mode. Candidates will have the ease of taking the exam from the comfort of their own homes on an internet-based platform at a designated time.
The PRAGATII Exam for this year is set for July 31st, 2022. Before the main examination, Mock Tests are conducted to help students familiarize with the exam environment. The format of the question paper is Objective type with Multiple Choice Questions to be solved within 90 minutes. The medium of the question paper is in English with 90 questions of 1 mark each. Also, no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers or unanswered questions.
The online exam consists of 40 verbal reasoning questions, and 25 questions each under quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning. The Verbal Reasoning section covers questions from language with reading comprehension, sentence structure, phrases, and more. The Quantitative Aptitude section has questions of Algebra, Geometry, Ratios, Proportions, etc. The Logical Reasoning section assesses problem-solving skills with questions based on Sequencing, Venn Diagrams, Puzzles, etc.
Students eligible for the PRAGATII Exam receive continued guidance from the Study in India team. The team addresses all student queries, provides sample papers and facilitates one-on-one conversation through weekly webinars, WhatsApp and the official social media handles.
