About 20 people are reported dead in an accident at Subriso Amenfi in the Wassa Akropong district of the Western region.
According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred when a Sprinter bus carrying 23 passengers rammed into a stationary articulated truck conveying bags of cement to Bogoso or a nearby town.
Others who sustained injuries in the gory incident which occurred at about 7pm Saturday evening have been rushed to the Dunkwa hospital.
The dead included two mechanics who were working on the faulty articulated truck on the road.
“There are no lights on the road so the sprinter driver could not see the stationary truck and so he just run into it killing about 20 people including some mechanics who were working on the truck by the road side. It’s a bloody situation here. They have also conveyed the injured to the hospital while the dead bodies have been deposited at the morgue,” Daniel Mensah, an eyewitness told StarrFMonline.com from the scene of the accident.
