Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari marked his Saudi Premier League debut with a win as Al Ittihad beat Najran 2-1 away on Thursday night.
The former AC Milan player played the entire duration at the King Abdul Aziz Stadium in Makkah as goals from Lucian Sanmartean and Gelmin Rivas gave Al Ittihad a winning start.
Substitute Wesam Waheab snatched the consolation in injury time.
Muntari made his experience count by scything into tackles and calibrating passes.
Last Sunday, he played full throttle as Al Ittihad beat lower division side Ohod 5-0 to advance in the Crown Prince Cup.
