Six out of the 15 rooms of the Suncity Hostel in East Legon, in Accra Wednesday night caught fire destroying some properties.
However, a timely intervention by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) salvaged the situation.
Mr Prince Billy Anarglatey, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, who confirmed the fire outbreak to the media, said it took an hour to extinguish the inferno at the Suncity Hostel.
He said the Fire Service had cordoned off the Hostel to prevent intruders while investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
He said no casualty was recorded.
