Last Saturday?s presidential election has continued with its strings of surprising results across the country.

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu surprisingly lost his senatorial dream as the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) cleared the elections in the state.

Aliyu, chairman of the Northern Governors Forum was one of the PDP governors who had issues with the party and President Goodluck Jonathan over his second term shot at the Presidency. He alongside his Jigawa State counterpart, Sule Lamido later retraced their steps back into the PDP, promising to support Jonathan in their states.

However, the results have proved that they were no match for the invincibility of General Muhammadu Buhari?s electoral machinery that swept the PDP in most parts of the north as the APC won in the two states contrary to bookmakers projections.north clean of vestiges of the

But surprisingly again, it was in the APC state of Nassarawa that President had an upperhand where he defeated Buhari to the second position.

Earlier in Bauchi, there had been reports that PDP chairman Adamu Muazu lost in his ward but he was quick to put on his twitter handle that contrary to reports, he delivered his ward and state to his party. Imagine the embarrassment of the national party of the most powerful party in Africa loosing to the opposition?
