Sadique Broni Yeboah, the suspended Assin Central Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, has given the party a three-day ultimatum to reverse his suspension or face legal action.
Yeboah and Assin Central Regional Chairman Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu were suspended for their involvement in suspending Nurein Shiabu Migyimah, the constituency’s parliamentary candidate.
Following the national leadership’s intervention declaring Migyimah’s suspension null and void, Yeboah’s legal representatives wrote to NDC General Secretary Fifi Kwetey, demanding the immediate rescission of Yeboah’s suspension and fair proceedings to address alleged procedural irregularities and breaches of natural justice.
The lawyers emphasized that the suspension violated the party’s constitution and internal regulations, stating, “We have the instructions of our client to demand from you the withdrawal of his suspension forthwith within three days and give him a fair hearing if you find it meets so to do.”
The letter also warned of legal action should the party fail to comply with the demands.
Migyimah had been suspended over allegations of immoral behaviour and anti-party activities, including accusations of having an affair with Yeboah’s wife.
