Tamale College of Education graduated 457 graduates this weekend

Tamale College of Education at the weekend graduated 457 graduates during their 10th Congregation in Tamale.

Of 457 graduands, 211 obtained first class, 245 had second class upper division, and one graduand also obtained second class lower.

The congratulation Ceremony was on the theme: Preparing future educators for a changing educational landscape.

The principal of Tamale College of Education indicated that despite the challenges the College is facing, the students’ exceptional academic performance over the past four academic years, the number of First-Class graduates has significantly
increased, with 211 students achieving First-Class honours this year, a 2914 per cent increase from the previous year.

“This achievement places Tamale College of Education at the forefront among the five Colleges of Education affiliated with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) at this year’s congregation”. He stated

According to him, the Tamale College of Education curriculum emphasizes subject matter expertise,
pedagogical innovation, and professional development, ensuring the graduates are prepared to lead and inspire in future classrooms.

Dr address said Educators must foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, integrate technology into classrooms, and create inclusive learning environments.

He appealed to the government to address infrastructure challenges in the College of Education to improve quality teaching and learning and build future Educators’ capacity for a better education system.

Alhaji Shaibu Alhassan Shaibu, the Northern Regional Minister, said the government and his team are working tirelessly to address all the grievances of all Teacher’s Associations in the country due to their essential role in shaping the minds of future generations.

He implored the Council of Tamale College of Education to remain focused and steadfast in guiding the College to attain its mission and vision of being an outstanding College of Education for transforming and developing essential human resources in the region and the country at large.

He advised the graduands to make commitments to equitably apply the various knowledge, skills and training acquired throughout their studies into fruitful and just courses to better the lives of the people and, most significantly, rural children to also gain quality and decent education like their colleagues in the cities and urban areas.

Alhaji Shaibu also added that graduates should endeavour to be very innovative and creative in their chosen fields to overcome the inherent challenges they might face in their careers.

“Let’s also serve as ambassadors of peace wherever we find ourselves as youth violence is slowly becoming a normal norm in societies; in this way, we will be able to save precious lives and safeguard our future”. He stated

He congratulated the graduates for their outstanding achievements. Also, he urged them to continue to explore more excellent opportunities that would enhance their delivery and service to the people and mother Ghana at large.
