The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), a non- profit making international non-governmental organization based in Abuja, leading other groups, Nigerians and advocacy groups have raised about One hundred million Naira to assist President Goodluck Jonathan pick his nomination form from the party secretariat this morning.
A release from the stable of the Mr Reuben Abati, the Media/Publicity Adviser to President Jonathan yesterday disclosed that no fewer than thirty-eight organizations, groups mad individuals had raised N100,065,000 in an unsolicited contributions to support Jonathan purchase the relevant forms.
The contributions ranged from N5,000 from one Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme, to N22m from TAN and the Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors respectively, amongst others.
According to the release, the President thanked all Nigerians, PDP members, friends, associates and all groups who out of sincere appreciation of the administration’s achievements in the last four years had been urging him to seek a re- election.
He said, “the president is greatly encouraged by the overwhelming outpouring of goodwill and support as well as the confidence of all Nigerians in his ability to continue to transform the country for the good of all its people”.
He therefore thanked all those who contributed and or made pledges to assist him pay the required N22m for the PDP Nomination Fee and the Expression of Interest form.
Jonathan, according to information has concluded plans to be at the Wadata House national secretariat of the PDP this morning for him to purchase the forms.
