Tanzania plans to boost private investment in education

Tanzanian education authorities announced Tuesday that plans are underway to create a blueprint for the education sector that will enhance private investments.

The private sector’s involvement in the education sector will help address the challenges facing it, said Minister for Education, Science and Technology Adolf Mkenda.

“The blueprint will be developed after thorough consultations with education stakeholders, the private sector, and the government,” Mkenda said at a meeting that brought together private sector investors in the education sector in Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania.

The government is committed to mobilizing resources from the private sector to enhance the education sector, he said, adding that the government will address the tax issues as were raised by private investors.
