Tanzanian Minister for Health Ummy Mwalimu told parliament on Tuesday that the government is planning to introduce mandatory health insurance cover for all its citizens.
Mwalimu said a bill designed to introduce mandatory health insurance cover will be tabled in parliament in September this year.
She told the house in the capital, Dodoma, that a meeting to educate lawmakers on universal healthcare was held in January.
Tabling the 2019/2020 budget proposals for her ministry, Mwalimu said the ministry also organized a learning tour for 19 lawmakers to Ghana and Rwanda in December 2018. Enditem
