Tanzania will launch a national plan for environmental management and conservation aimed at addressing ecological challenges facing the nation, an official said on Friday.
Selemani Jafo, minister of state in the Vice-President’s Office responsible for union affairs and environment, said the plan will be launched by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on June 5 against the backdrop of climate impacts.
“The plan will highlight ecological challenges facing the country and propose short-term and long-term solutions,” Jafo told a news conference in the capital, Dodoma.
He said planting of trees will be among activities to be done across the east African nation ahead of the World Environment Day.
Over the years, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. Enditem
