Tanzania’s Chief Justice Ibrahim Juma on Wednesday urged institutions dealing with criminal justice to share information that leads to timely dispensing of justice.

Juma told a news conference in Tanzania’s commercial hub of Dar es Salaam ahead of the commemoration of Law Week and Law Day that the criminal justice process goes through various important steps that need sharing of information, including the judiciary and stakeholders.

This year’s Law Week, held annually to celebrate the rule of law and provide an opportunity for the public to understand how the legal process works to achieve justice, will be held from Jan. 24 to 30 at the Mwalimu Nyerere Square in Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania.

The Chief Justice said lack of communication and lack of sharing important information affected the access to justice in time as it delayed investigation and hearing of cases.
