electionsA 36- year old sports teacher at Kwabre Senior High School (SHS) in the Nkoranza Municipality has filed to contest elections as an Assembly Member for Kranka Electoral area of the Nkoranza North District.

Mr. Ibrahim Seidu, currently a government appointee of the District Assembly told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Kranka on Friday that he was seeking election to be able to liaise with the Management of the Assembly effectively to initiate development projects in his area.

Mr. Seidu recounted his personal contributions in cash and kind towards the progress of the community, citing that he paid for the labour cost on the work of the street electrification project when the Assembly provided 26 street bulbs for that purpose.

He said plans were afoot for the Assembly to upgrade the main Kranka street with gravel and also construct a six-unit classroom block for the local Catholic Primary School, adding that the Assembly had constructed a six-unit classroom block for the Kranka Islamic Primary School.

Mr. Seidu who is presently the acting Assemblyman for Kranka following the death of Mr.Kwame Kudom, the former Assemblyman therefore solicited assistance of the electorate to vote massively for him to move the area forward.
