Residents of Tebu, located in the Ga South Municipality, are voicing frustrations over the dilapidated state of their local roads.
These roads have forced many to rely on motorcycles due to vehicular challenges.
The dusty and uneven roads have prompted residents to opt for motorcycles, locally known as “okada”, as their primary mode of transport. However, recent incidents of motorcycle theft have heightened safety concerns, further limiting viable transportation options for residents.
Adding to their grievances, the departure of their Member of Parliament, Sophia Akuako, who has shifted focus to another constituency, has left residents feeling neglected and underrepresented. They fear this shift in political focus may hinder community development initiatives, as resources might not be allocated due to her decision not to seek re-election in 2024.
Assemblyman Ahortor Ebenezer has highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive road rehabilitation in Tebu, stressing that mere reshaping will not suffice. Residents advocate for an asphalt overlay to address the road’s longstanding issues.
