The KNUST branch of the Tertiary Educations Network (TEIN), ?has added its voice to the call for the dissolution of political youth wings in the Ghanaian educational institutions such as TEIN-NDC as a measure of fighting indiscipline in the country since these political youth wings are the breeding places for indiscipline in the country.

According to the group, the current state of indiscipline in the country is worrying, and calls for urgent measures to be taken in addressing them, but this breach of common sense didn?t generate mainly from the political youth wings such as TEIN.

“The fight against indiscipline will best be achieved through education, attitudinal change, empowerment with strong institutions among others. Political groupings at any level form part of individual?s democratic and constitutional right ?freedom of association?. Political youth wings in the country?s educational institutions are constitution in this regard, and as such any attempt to dissolve these political groups under minds this country?s democratic credentials.”

It also noted that, Political youth wings such as TEIN provides a strong party foundation for the NDC and a platform for capacity building and also a center for grooming local Ghanaian youth into today?s politics, and as such could not have been a breeding place for indiscipline but rather a tool for fighting indiscipline, it is an avenue for dissemination of government developmental projects/the party?s ideologies and principles.
