Tema M94 Old Students Supports Best Students

The M94 Old Student Association of the Tema Methodist Day School (MEDASS) has presented two laptops to the overall best students in the 2013 WASSCE Exams of the school during its 30th Speech and Prize giving day celebrations.

The overall best students passed this year?s WASSCE Exams with distinction to lead their fellow students and clinching the ultimate prize.

The objective of the association?s support through the laptop presentation is to improve ICT literacy of the students and youth.

The ceremony was held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 under the theme ?Harnessing stakeholders? resources for academic excellence and national development.? The theme is to call home the need for all stakeholders to support in every effort to make education accessible while improving its quality for development in every facet of life.

The event is meant to honour extraordinary students who have demonstrated a profound commitment to succeed as well as hardworking and dedicated teachers and staff of the school.

The President of the association, Ms. Suard Sesay in a statement to the media used the opportunity to stress the important role teachers? play in the development of every child while encouraging students to understand that the development and success was also their responsibility. She further encouraged students to seek excellence in all their endeavours so they can contribute to their success and society?s betterment.

?I am encouraging all the students to develop a habit of committing to excellence not just in academic but in all spheres of their life. The most important thing is to be someone who brings quality to society, who contributes his efforts, skills and knowledge to improve one’s life and the lives of other people?, Ms. Suard Sesay said.

The Headmaster also used the occasion to thank all those who continue to support the school and encouraged other old students to support the school as it has imparted on them.
