Tema Police Service praised for its hard-work

Mr Isaac Youssif Barry, the Tema Regional Chairman of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), has commended the Tema Regional Police for their work to improve the security of businesses in the metropolis.
He said the increased road patrols carried out within the Harbour City had greatly curbed criminal activities which used to be rampant in the area.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency appealed to the Police to spread their services to the new industrial zones, developing in the metropolis beyond the Freezones enclave and Kpone areas.
Mr Barry gave the commendation when the Tema Regional executives of the GNCCI paid a courtesy call on DCOP George Tuffuor, the Tema Regional Commander.

The call forms part of activities by the Chamber to strengthen its relationship with stakeholders and get feed-back on how to collaboratively promote businesses and security in the metropolis.
DCOP Tuffuor said having noticed the varied security problems faced by inhabitants the Tema Regional Police Command was prepared to engage in new ways of boosting security and ensuring that criminal activities were curbed.
He briefed the Chamber on some strategies like foot patrol and rapid response teams to ensure the peace and security of businesses and the inhabitants for optimum productivity.

DCOP Tuffuor said the Police Service had intensified efforts to bring the Police closer to the inhabitants by holding several stakeholder engagements and urged corporate bodies to assist with vehicular and other logistical support to enhance their work.

The delegation used the opportunity to educate the Police on activities of the GNCCI to ensure growth, profitability and professionalism of businesses.
Present at the meeting were members of the Tema branch of the GNCCI including Cosmos Bondzie, Vice Chairman, Delali Buahini, the Marketing Officer, and Daniel Osei Torgbor, staff member.
For the Police Command were DSP Charles Agyei Asiamah from the Afienya Police Post, ACP Boadu of the Regional Office, and Staff Officer Amoaning.
