Susu-Box Manufactures in Tema have appealed to the government and cooperate institutions to invest in their susu-box making business in order to produce it in a larger quantity and to export to the neighboring countries.
Mr. Akwesi Poku, one of the manufacturers in Tema Community Nine, speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the group had the capacity to produce susu-boxes in commercial quantities.
The members said they had however been hindered by funds and banks were not ready to provide them with loans as they had no collateral, and called on government to support them with soft loans.
Mr Poku appealed to the government and corporate institutions to help establish susu-box making factory, as the business was lucrative and could reduce youth unemployment in the country.
Mr William Agyeman, a susu-box manufacturer, also explained to the GNA that, the materials they used to produce the susu-boxes were expensive and chemical companies that produced them were all based in Tema which was easier to make Tema their producing hub.
“We therefore appeal for all investors to come on board and assist us with tools and finances for bulk manufacturing of susu-boxes,” he said.
