Ms Anna Adukwei Addo, Tema West Municipal Chief Executive has announced that the Assembly will introduce a clients’ service desk at its premises to handle all concerns of residents.
At her median business forum organized by the Assembly to interact with companies located within the municipality, she said in addition to the desk, the outfit would liaise with the telecom companies to generate a toll free number for residents and companies to channel their grievances, developmental issues, and suggestions easily to the Assembly.
She said this after some representatives of the companies participating in the forum complained about the lack of good roads, drains and other social amenities in the municipality.
According to them, “we don’t see our problems well taken care off as a business community even though we pay all the rates and taxes we are required to pay.
They added that “we see that much as we are the golden eggs nothing is done to help us develop our businesses in this municipality.
“The concerns of industries should not only be heard, but must be addressed because it is the industries that are feeding Tema West with revenue not property rates.
“Some of them also complained about squatters taking over their forecourt indicating that several complaints to the Assembly yielded nothing. We are more than 80 industries employing over 1,000 people in the municipality and our roads and drains are terrible.”
Ms Addo responding to their concerns said her administration would tackle the issues in phases saying it would not be the usual talks but would be done and therefore urged the companies to collaborate with the Assembly to develop the area.
