The chieftaincy dispute in Ngleshie Amanfrom is intensifying as the Homowo festival approaches.
Lingering tensions between the chief and other factions have recently flared up.
The latest trigger is the chief’s plan to ride in a palanquin through Amanfro township during the Homowo celebration.
In response, opposing factions have declared their intention to do the same on the same day, raising fears of potential violence.
“We appeal to IGP George Dampare to act swiftly to maintain peace,” said an anonymous source.
“If the police don’t intervene, everyone will do as they please. If the chief rides in a palanquin, we will do the same.”
The chieftaincy crisis in Ngleshie Amanfrom has persisted for some time, showing no signs of resolution.
It is crucial that the Homowo festival does not become a catalyst for further conflict.
