Says a lot of arrests have been made from the various insurgencies

The Inspector Generalof Police,Mohammed Abubakar,on Friday, said that security agencies have reduced the activities of terrorists to the ?barest minimum?.

Speaking at a lecture on security studies,at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Abubakarsaid : “Before now, Kano usually experiences five or more attacks in a day, but the situation has changed,which is an indication that normalcy is returning.”

He lauded government?s support toward a peaceful society, stressing that such support had helped the police to discharge the primary functions of protecting lives and property.

He advised Nigerians to be security conscious and to give the security agencies the needed support to succeed in their effort to secure the country.

The police boss disclosed that several arrests had been made from the various insurgencies, and lauded efforts by sister security agencies that made that possible.

?With the support of the sister security agencies, we have also been able to recover lots of arms and ammunitions from the suspects,? he added.
