“Esports is growing rapidly all over the world, and Africa is no exception. We have many young talented gamers who deserve support,” said Evelia GADEGBEKU, Head of Marketing & Communication, Enter Africa.

The tournaments will be held using the infrastructure of Passport.gg, a platform for gamers, which provides the Digital Gamer ID, with a unique ID for gamers and gives access to participation in events. The platform also has a ranking system that will help to determine the best players for each city and country.

The organizers have set the goal of holding a series of tournaments in 16 countries at once. This is the first esports event of its kind to be held on this scale across the African continent.

“This event gives a massive push for the development of esports infrastructure and opens up new opportunities for gamers in each country. It is essential for us that every gamer gets the opportunity to be recognized, gets his CHANCE to take his position in the ranking of the city, country or even continent,” said Ignat Bobrovich, VP of Strategy and Partnerships & Events at WeSCO.

The main goal of the event is to give equal opportunities to every gamer to win and become a leader within their area, city, country or even continent. At the end of the tournament, the best gamers and finalists will receive valuable prizes and recognition.

Today there are more than 2 billion gamers in the world, and esports is one of the fastest-growing industries. There are about 200 million gamers in Africa.

For many African countries, Afrika Esports Series is an opportunity to attract attention, investments and business partners, which will give a rapid impetus to development.
