The victim, said to be a junior high school (JHS) student, was said to have bled profusely with her intestines gushing out as she left the man?s room naked last Thursday.

Good Samaritans at Aboaso, where the incident occurred, led by one Emmanuel Kesse, quickly rushed her to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where she gave up the ghost.

The suspect, believed to be a retired teacher, was eventually apprehended at Adum in Kumasi when he tried to vanish into thin air, a source intimated.

According to the source, the victim and the suspect, identified as Ben Addai, happily lived at Aboaso near Ntonso in the Ashanti Region.

On that fateful day, he alleged, the old man invited the 16-year-old girl into his room but the girl returned from the room stabbed and bleeding.

In an attempt to save the girl?s life, people at the scene rushed her to KATH for medical care without paying attention to the retired teacher.

The source claimed that the man stabbed the girl after having carnal knowledge of her ?but we don?t know why he decided to kill her in that brutal manner.?

Unconfirmed reports have it that semen was found in the private part of the minor when doctors examined her body.

The mother of the deceased, Sadia Adusei, is not sure whether the minor voluntarily entered Mr Addai?s room or she was forced in.

However, before she died, the girl allegedly confessed to doctors at KATH that the 70-year-old retiree was her boyfriend.

It is not clear why the man stabbed the girl to death.

But before she passed away, the girl reportedly?told the neighbours who rushed her to the hospital that the retired teacher was angry that she had been taking money from him but had refused to have sex with him.

Ben Addai, according to sources, mistook her for an armed robber.
