The Kwesimintsim Police Command has mounted a search for a man who allegedly inflicted serious cutlass wounds on his elder brother at the family?s apartment at SSNIT Flat, Anaji, near Takoradi, yesterday.

The victim, 32, whose name was given as Seth, is currently receiving treatment at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, whilst the suspect is on the run.

A few neighbours who were witnesses to the bizarre spectacle, told journalists that the two brothers, both unemployed, had been living in SSNIT Flat Block H with their mother, a palm wine seller, for the past six months.

According to them, the two siblings seemed not to be on good terms with each other and neighbours had frequently heard them engaged in petty squabbles almost every morning.

However, the unusual incident occurred, attracting the attention of a neighbour, who said he heard a deafening noise and rushed to the apartment only to find the victim in a pool of blood with one of the arms completely chopped off and multiple wounds all over the body.

The victim, who was in a critical condition, was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital whilst the suspect, whose name was given simply as Kwame, was said to have escaped immediately after the act.
