A representative for “The Voice UK” addresses report about Boy George claming to be sleeping with Prince during a recent live-taping of the show. The rep says that Boy’s remarks was only a “joke.”

The rep tells PEOPLE, “He just went, ‘Oh darling, I’ve slept with him.’ He went on to say that he had Prince posters on his wall as a kid. He was never being serious.” The rep adds that report about the show coming to a halt is false. The “whole drama of the show coming to a halt didn’t happen at all,” says the rep.

According to a previous report by The Sun, Boy made his comment about Prince during a discussion with fellow judge Paloma Faith about the impressive performers they’ve worked with over the years. Boy said, “I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.” Paloma replied, “Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”

The “Karma Chameleon” hitmaker took it a step further by saying, “Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.” The audience then allegedly went “absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming in a bid to restore calm.”

“We just couldn’t believe what he had come out with – and the guys in the gallery were beside themselves,” a source told the site, “The crowd went absolutely wild because they thought they had just witnessed a massive celebrity exclusive. The other judges thought it was brilliant, particularly He kept coming up to Boy George and high-fiving him, which just set the crowd off again.”

“Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them. After that Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall,” the source continued, “But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”
