Bahrain side East Riffa Sporting Club have failed to reach an agreement to sign talented Ghanaian winger Theophilus Anoobah, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 24-year-old traveled to the Persian Gulf two weeks ago but his representative could not reach an agreement with the top-flight side.
Widespread media reports had claimed the former Medeama winger had signed a permanent deal with the Bahraini side.
But Ghana’s leading football website, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm the former Ismaily winger has returned home following a deadlock in negotiation.
“I did not signed for the club because we did not reach an agreement. So the reports are completely false,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com
“There were few details we wanted to be sorted out but unfortunately both parties could not reach an agreement.
“There are other options available to me and we’ll settle on the one that will be beneficial.”
Anoobah is a free agent after he terminated his contract with Egyptian side Ismaily this year.
The highly-rated winger played an influential role for Ghana during the 2014 CHAN tournament where the West Africans finished as silver-medalist in South Africa.
