I was at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday to watch the final showdown of
the first ever national women?s league game between Hasaacas ladies and Fabulous ladies.
Given its patronage it shocked me to the bone to see both teams treated spectator with beautiful touches, excellent tackles and enterprising build up as well.
Though Hasaacas ladies won 2-1 and crowned official champions of the first ever women?s league with a whopping GH?2,000 with the runners-up picking GH?1,000, Fabulous ladies did not disgrace themselves.
The organizers have done well however more work need to be done in the subsequent editions.
I suggest that instead of playing the league into two zones, the organizers should pull their strings together starting from now to ensure an all play all national leagues.
In this same vein also corporate bodies should support the project so that Ghana can get the best from these ladies for the female national teams.
