Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has called Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to employ innovative strategies to boost internally generated funds (IGF).

This appeal comes in light of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council’s revelation at its inaugural meeting that only GH¢117 million had been generated out of a GH¢294 million target as of May.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Titus-Glover emphasized the need for MMDCEs to diversify revenue sources and enhance revenue collection efficiency. He noted district disparities, citing Ayawaso East and Shai as facing challenges due to limited economic activities. He highlighted the importance of setting moderate revenue targets to encourage compliance without deterring residents.

Titus-Glover underscored the significance of developing tailored strategies for each locality to optimize revenue generation. He stressed that effective revenue mobilization would contribute to local development initiatives and improve service delivery.
