The project is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The leading surgeon, Telli Yaovi Leonard, said the operations would be carried out under local anaesthesia to remove the fluid around the testicle.

“We therefore wish to urge all those suffering from hydrocele not to fear and hide their disease, because these days, we should not die from such curable diseases,” he said.

A hydrocele is a collection of fluid around the testicle. The condition only occurs in adult males. Typically presents as a painless swelling of the scrotum. Enditem
