Although the Togolese government has taken note of the magnitude of the threats, it has acknowledged the inability of security forces to handle the threat alone, hence the move by the security minister to urge private security firms to assist in intelligence gathering.

The minister said the two entities which often meet in the course of their duties on the ground, will complement each other.

He promised to avail officers from the police force to train security guards from the private security firms.

Damhane said the training center was ready and what is remaining is to see how the government can contribute to the training of private security guards to reinforce their capacity in promoting national security. Enditem
