Tourism in its retrospect in Ghana is already accepted as an industry.Tourism is extremely cardinal for the growth and development of a developing country like Ghana.Tourism is now one of the major earners for innumerable economics, culture, history, tradition and so on.In Ghana, earnings from tourism are adding considerably to the GDP and over a millions visitors are now expected annually.There is an adage that says that.There is no palpable absolute better way to erudite about a new culture than to experience it first -hand.

However, tourism offers a wonderful connecting thread between visitor and host community.It promote dialogue and interaction which embedded in memories to kowtow to its instructions.Such contact between people of different background is the very foundation for tolerance.Now days, tourism is the most flourishing and gigantic industry in Ghana. Growing very rapidly it employs millions of people in Ghana.It is a travel based recreation which provides relief from daily routine of monotonous life.
??? Furthermore, tourism helps in the development of economy of a country. Besides, the local people who had been kept mute do get in touch with each other with the people and the country.People belonging to various cultures meet together and comprehend each other.This gives them an opportunity to people of various cultures to assimilate together.

In addition, in a world struggling for peaceful coexistence, tourism can build bridges and contribute to peace/Tourism contributions to development also advance the course of global solidarity at a time of profound global economic uncertainty,tourism ability to generate sociology-economic? opportunities and help to reduce the gap between rich and the poor is more important than ever.

On the other hand, tourism may cause disruption in socioeconomic, cultural set-up of a country beyond imagination.IT? may lead to environmental hazard such as environmental pollution due to use of cigars and plastic bags.In other to attract more tourists and earn more profits sprawling resorts are built cutting down thousands of trees beside sea beaches.These resorts destroy both scenic beauty of the place by paying no attention to local architectural and ecology.

As a result of indiscriminate construction of high rises provisions of water supply and waste disposal facilitate many fatal ends.Overuse of natural wealth is a serious problem, tourists overuse of mountain trails resulting in abundance in dumping of waste products food tins to be mentioned but a few.There is? no doubt that, damage to wildlife parks is a visible phenomenon, ground vegetation remain devastated under tourists shoes, food habits of animal impaired ultimately landscape loses scenic beauty.

Tourism may have damage the sociocultural effects.Local people demean themselves to earn more or imitate alien culture, new life styles, foreign culture.Once the natural beauty and man made beauties are lost, tourism loses its charm and attraction and will collapse.So environmental friendly or green tourism are being inducted by tourism industries.
??? So we should keep tourism within planned limits and try to avoid ecological imbalance and health hazards. Tourism must not play havoc with traditions and protected societies.Now technique, high-tech communication may bring cultural setbacks, degradation to preserved communities

Throughout our beautified country there are many thousands of attractions such as lower hill stations, wildlife sanctuaries and deep rain forest to be mentioned but a few.Adventure sports like gliding, cannoning,mountaineering are other attractive attributes available here in Ghana,galore of cultural differences resulting in varieties of cuisines to please diverse tongues, textiles, artifacts, handicrafts pleasing eyes are other gifts.

Finally, in spite of all these share of Ghana tourism is only a small portion of the world tourism industry.So we must use all potentialities by proper planing, financing acquiring experience, packaging marketing and boosting creativity, make outstanding appeal to travelers and seek benevolence from private entrepreneurs.
