A traditional leader in Mkushi district, a town in Central Province of Zambia on Monday lauded the government for contracting a reputable Chinese company to work on roads in his chiefdom.
In an interview, senior chief Mboroma of the Lala and Swaka people hailed the government for contracting Sinohydro to work on some roads in his chiefdom.
The roads in the chiefdom are part of the 200 million U.S. dollars World Bank-funded Improved Rural Connectivity Project under which over 4,000 kilometres of feeder roads were being rehabilitated in six provinces.
He told Xinhua that the roads being worked on by the Chinese company were a great admiration as seen from the work done so far.
He observed that the works which include rehabilitation, maintenance and improvement to gravel standards of feeder roads in the area was a great achievement.
He said that he was particularly gratified that the works were being done by a company that was committed to delivering quality work.
He also hailed the Zambia-China relationship, adding that the project was a result of the good relationship that Zambia has with China. Enditem
