Traffic accident in central Ethiopia kills at least 11


A traffic accident in Ethiopia’s central Oromia regional state has left at least 11 people dead, an Ethiopian official said Friday.

Abdurazak Ahmed, head of Health Office, Sebeta city in Ethiopia’s Oromia regional state, said the traffic accident happened Friday afternoon when a transport bus running on the road collided with a dump truck traveling on the opposite side of the road, leaving at least 11 people dead.

Seven other people who suffered serious injuries in the deadly traffic accident are receiving medical treatment in nearby medical institutions, reported the state-owned media outlet Ethiopia News Agency (ENA), quoting Ahmed as saying.

Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the deadly traffic accident. Enditem
