This year, the Hague African Festival made a spectacular comeback, showcasing African culture and creativity at the renowned Zuiderparktheater.

Ghanaian music sensation Trigmatic stole the show with an electrifying debut performance in the Netherlands.

His dynamic set, featuring a fusion of highlife, hip-hop, and other West African genres, resonated deeply with the audience, creating a powerful connection to the African continent and leaving a memorable impression.

George Duncan founded the festival, which has long been a stage for exceptional African artists. Past performers include Kyekyeku, Wiyaala, Fatoumata Diawara, and Richard Bona.

The festival continues its tradition of highlighting African artistry and inspiring emerging and established talents.

This year, it also marked the debut of Augustina “MS.ABA” Austin as the festival’s new director.

Her leadership promises to enhance the festival’s impact, fostering cultural exchange and supporting the growth of emerging artists.

The Nteasee Foundation, which now leads The Hague African Festival, aims to strengthen cultural ties between Ghana and the Netherlands.

The foundation’s vision includes expanding opportunities for artists and promoting global cultural exchange.

The festival’s triumphant return underscores the enduring power of music and culture to unite diverse communities and celebrate African heritage.
