Truck with 34 tons of copper missing in Namibia

A truck carrying 34 tons of processed copper cathodes, valued at 2.5 million Namibian dollars, or 156, 000 U.S dollars disappeared at Namibia's port town of Walvis Bay Sunday.

Namibian police said Wednesday that the copper from Zambia’s Kansanshi mine was destined for the United Kingdom via Walvis Bay, about 415 kilometers from the capital Windhoek.

The police also said they are looking for the truck driver, Richman Chirwa, 45, in connection with the disappearance of the truck and the its load.

The Walvis Bay Corridor Group has promised a 31, 000 U.S dollars) reward to any one with information on the disappearance of the truck and the whereabouts of the driver. Enditem
