The Mozambican police have arrested two men on suspicion of assassinating the country’s prominent lawyer Gilles Cistac.
The suspects, Lucio Manuel and Arsenio Nhampossa, were nabbed last Thursday, according to the police spokesperson, Arnaldo Chefo.
“Their detention was legalized the following day at the judicial court of Maputo”, Chefo said.
The authorities say the investigation is still in progress and they will share more as it proceeds.
Cistac was shot dead under broad day light early in March when he was walking out of a cafe where he frequented before work.
Cistac was born in France and had lived in Mozambique since 1993. He had worked as an adviser to several government ministries. Enditem
