Ibrahim Tanko, head coach of the national under-23 team, the Black Meteors, has invited 22 players to begin camping in preparation for the upcoming under-23, championship qualifiers.
The players, would begin camping on Friday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, ahead of their two-legged first round qualifying encounter against Togo.
Winner of the tie, would move to the next stage of the qualifiers to face countries like Nigeria, Congo, Senegal and South Africa, which have all drawn aside for the second round.
Seven countries will join host Egypt for next year’s championship with first three teams from the competition in Egypt next, representing Africa at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
Coach Tanko would be looking to qualify Ghana to Tokyo, having missed out on the last three editions of the Olympic Games.
