The U.S. military said Friday it conducted an airstrike against ISIS terrorists in northern Somalia, killing three militants.
The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) which oversees American troops on the African continent said the latest strike was conducted in coordination with the Somali government targeting terrorists in the Golis Mountains on Friday.
“Currently, we assess no civilians were injured or killed as a result of this airstrike,” Africom said in a statement.
It said precision airstrikes such as these support Somali security force’s efforts to protect the Somali people from terrorists and support long-term security in the region. Enditem
