Uganda Cranes is due to play Gambia in an international friendly on Tuesday, Botswana in their opening match of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers and the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Tanzania in Zanzibar on June 20.
A joint squad of 35 is undergoing training. Onyango was at the stadium although he did not join the rest in training on Wednesday.
Gambia is expected to jet in on Saturday where they will play two friendly matches with the Uganda Cranes before proceeding for their AFCON qualifier against South Africa on June 13.
Senior players, who joined the training earlier include strikers Geoffrey Massa, Alex Kakuba, Denis Iguma and Robert Sentongo.
Luwaga Kizito is also expected to join training before the CHAN and the senior Cranes team can be separated for camp and specialised training.
Cranes coach Milutin ?Micho? Sredojevic expressed his happiness at senior players Geoffrey Massa and Robert Sentongo?s presence.
For South Africa based players, facing Botswana is not a challenge as many of the national team players also trade their professional business at South African clubs.
