Magogo said that Uganda?s failure to qualify for the Nations Cup and the forthcoming All Africa Games is not Micho?s problem. This follows recent reactions from a section of football fans calling for Micho?s departure.

While featuring on a sports show on Bukedde radio over the weekend, Magogo explained that Micho was not the reason for Uganda?s failure to qualify for the competitions but rather the quality of players available to him.

?The problem is not the coach. Before we think so, let?s look at what material we have given him to coach. Where do these players play from and who are the coaches. For example the entire country does not have coaches qualified to handle super league clubs,? Magogo explained.

?If you further look at where even our professional players are. Many if not all play in countries that do not qualify for the Africa Nations or the World Cup. So when they (players) feature against (Ghana?s Asamoah) Gyani and (Togo?s Emmanuel) Adebayor, definitely the standards get so high? he added.

Recently at Nakivubo War Memorial stadium, fans attempted to beat up Micho and his players following the Uganda Kobs in the All Africa Games qualifier.

Mozambique beat Uganda on aggregate after goalless draw. But Uganda succumbed to 4-1 penalty shootout. Angry fans chanted ?Micho Go, Micho Go? as they pelted the Serb with objects.

Magogo also clarified that Micho is not leaving soon because he is still contracted to coach the national teams. He also insisted that no Ugandan has the qualification to coach the senior national team the Uganda Cranes.
