Uganda’s annual headline inflation increases to 3.6 percent in December

Uganda’s annual headline inflation for the year ending December 2019 increased to 3.6 percent compared to the 3 percent recorded in the year ended November 2019, the country’s statistics bureau said here on Tuesday.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics in a statement said the slight increase is attributed to the increase in the annual food crops and related items inflation, which increase to 3.4 percent for the year ending December 2019.

In addition, according to the agency, the annual energy, fuel and utilities inflation increased to 8.8 percent for the year ending December 2019 compared to 7.4 percent for the year ended November 2019. Enditem
