Ghanaian bantamweight standout Daniel Gorsh is gearing up to face Benin’s Ghislain Vodounhessi for the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa bantamweight title.
The bout, part of a highly anticipated “The Golden Hands” event, is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, at the Treehouse Restaurant in Accra.
The event is a joint promotion by Legacy Fight Promotions and Shiatse Promotions.
Gorsh, who holds an unblemished record of 12-0 with nine knockouts, aims to expand his impressive resume.
His achievements include securing the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) Africa super bantamweight title in March, where he won via technical decision against Moses Adjei Selvi.
Vodounhessi, with a formidable record of 25-2 and 23 knockouts, has been preparing for the clash at the Jamestown Gym in Accra under Coach Randy Amugi.
The Beninese fighter has a notable track record against Ghanaian opponents, having won 14 of 16 encounters with them.
His recent performance has been strong, with four victories in his last five matches against Ghanaian adversaries.
His only defeat to a Ghanaian fighter came from the undefeated Wasiru Mohammed in January 2020.
As the fight approaches, Vodounhessi must contend with the unbeaten Gorsh, who remains a significant threat in the bantamweight division.
